Absent to late changes (taking register electronically)

We started taking register of Form Classes electronically, instead of doing it on paper an using an admin assistant to transfer to Smart+. After a period of adjustment, most teachers are coping well, but are battling with the time it takes to change absent to late since this can only be done from the 'whereabouts' screen. The whereabouts section is useful as learners can be marked absent/late but it is VERY slow to load.

It is super easy to do register from the learner absentee screen, but leaners cannot be marked late from here. Is it not possible to change this screen so that one click marks the child absent, and if you click a 2^nd time it changes absent to late. A third click can take them all away and the child is present again.

Marking learners absent or late in one place was very easy and fast in Smart, and I would love to see a similar easy to use function in d6+
