Action Processing triggers vs Action control reduction

Action Processing triggers vs Action control reduction

Goodday

Ongoing Problem (24+ Months):

Recurring action processing triggers from the total value of demerits accumulated for the preset period.

Why is it a problem?
We have many actions set up in line with the discipline procedures in our code of conduct.  These actions vary, depending on the nature of the offences and negotiations with the discipline committee.  If, for example, a parent meeting was conducted instead of detention, it would replace the action of the detention, depending on the weighting as set up.
But:  Each action triggers separately using the same value:  the total demerits accumulated for the year/period.  This causes the action processing to select the child for detention, even if the other actions were completed.  This is UNFAIR towards the learner.

Solution:  Action control should trigger on the Balance Total (Total Demerits - Total Detentions).  When this happens, the learner who completed other actions will not be selected if the balance is less than the required points for the next action.

Issue:  The current way the system works creates a lot of manual work.  Each learner's conduct report must be checked manually to print letters only for the deserving learners.  In many cases, the qualifying learners are less than half of what the system throws out.
