At Top achievers, learners who have been absent "a" for a subject are taken into account as a top achiever because the average is only calculated by the subjects written. If a learner has written only one subject and has 80% for one subject, the learner is indicated as a top achiever with an average mark of 80%.This is wrong - the learner is not a top achiever.
The top performers are therefore incorrectly indicated from high to low. Currently, the merit list must be processed manually to determine if there may not be a learner who did not write a subject and then the final list itself must be retyped. The d6 system must be able to determine that a learner has not written all subjects (received an "a") and not take the learner in account for the merit list.
Proposal
Make a dropdown box indicating that learners who were absent for a subject “a” will not appear on the specific list. This is an option that can then be used for the merit list. This will ensure that the correct merit list is determined.
