Dear D6 Team,
I would like to suggest the inclusion of a dedicated option for recording half-day leave within the D6 system. Currently, the platform only allows full-day leave entries, which makes it impossible to accurately track staff who take partial days off especially when they leave after break or return before the end of the day.
This adjustment is vital for the following reasons:
1. Accurate Attendance Records
Without a half-day option, staff attendance appears inconsistent or incomplete, which can affect reporting and accountability.
2. Fair Leave Management
Staff who take only a few hours off are currently recorded as taking a full day, which may unfairly reduce their leave balance or misrepresent their commitment.
3. Improved Planning and Transparency
Partial leave records help management plan better for coverage, especially in roles that affect learner safety, supervision, or admin flow.
4. Support for Flexible Work Culture
Recognizing half-day leave encourages a more flexible and understanding environment, especially for staff with medical appointments, family responsibilities, or short-term errands.
I believe this small adjustment would make a meaningful difference in how we manage staff presence and support fairness across the board.
