How to set up disciplinary actions

How to set up disciplinary actions

The Action Setup function allows you to configure disciplinary actions that are automatically generated when a learner reaches a specified number of violations. Actions can include letters for detention, interviews with parents, and more. Only violations are currently supported. Ensure that both the Categories and Conduct sections are set up first.

My School > System > Code of Conduct > Action Setup

How do I create a new action?

  1. Select the category action type and click Create an action.

  2. Select whether the action applies to violations or recognitions.

  3. Enter the action name in Afrikaans and English.

  4. Select the category and enter the minimum point value (negative for violations, e.g. −15). When a learner reaches this threshold, the system automatically generates the configured letter.

  5. Select the action type (e.g., Generate Letters to Parents).

  6. Select the letter type and print cycle settings, then click Save.

Frequently asked questions

I completed the setup but don't receive a task to generate discipline letters.

Check whether the minimum point value is not set too high. If it is −50 but each conduct item has a value of −1, the learner needs 50 violations before a letter is generated. Lower the minimum (e.g., to −15) or increase the value of conduct items (e.g., from −1 to −5).
