What this product means for your school

The Mid-Year Formula Add-on is a specialised add-on product that works alongside your school’s standard CAPS Promotion Formula Plan. It is used to ensure that Mid-Year Examination formulas are correctly applied within the system.

• This setup applies to learners in Grades 4–12.

• The formula structure is strictly applicable to official Department of Education (DOE) subjects only.

• This add-on requires an active CAPS Promotion Formula Plan to function.

What the OSM team does

When your school is on this plan, the OSM team will assist with:

• Setting up the Mid-Year Exam formulas for all Grades 4–12 DOE subjects.

  My School > Curriculum > Year-End Formulas > Subject Specific Formulas

• Maintaining alignment with the CAPS Promotion Formula Plan requirements.

• Maintaining the formulas during the course of the year.

This support is focused on the setup and ongoing maintenance of the Mid-Year formula structure throughout the academic year.

Important notes

• This add-on applies to Grades 4–12.

• It is strictly limited to official DOE subjects.

• It requires an active CAPS Promotion Formula Plan to function.

• It does not change how marks are entered, only how they are calculated and structured.

• It is a formula setup and maintenance add-on, not a full assessment system.

• Any changes outside the Mid-Year formula structure fall outside the scope of this add-on.
