The Optional Result tab displays additional information such as the percentage and position in the grade of the learner. It is used, for example, when certificates for Top 10 learners per grade are printed and the average and actual position in the grade must be shown.

Note: Grade averages for learners exclude the marks of LSEN learners. The grade averages for LSEN learners are calculated separately using the marks of all LSEN learners in the grade.
Click the Create new button and go to the Optional Result tab to create a new Optional Result.
Click Create new optional result.
Enter the Result Name in the Afrikaans and English fields. This name is used to label the Optional Result in the selected criteria.
More than one formula can be grouped under the same name (e.g. learner average and position in grade).
Enter the Marker name in the Afrikaans and English fields. This identifies the different formulas that have been set up and is used in the fields for the Achievement text setup.
Click the Formula tab to continue.
Drag the applicable functions and value elements to the red dots to set up the formula.
Click Accuracy and type the number of decimal places (e.g. 2) to round the average correctly.
Save the optional result. The fields created will be visible in the Achievements setup.

Yes. Set up an Optional Result with a Position-in-grade formula. This Optional Result can then be used in the Achievements setup to display the position on certificates.
