Attendance registers are used to record and print learner attendance. This article covers how to generate a standard learner attendance register and how to download the GDE E-Register Excel template for monthly absenteeism reporting.
My School > People > Learners > Attendance: Attendance Registers
Steps:
Choose the print period: Cycle or Month.
If you selected Cycle, choose the Monday on which the week starts. If you selected Month, choose the month.
Choose the sort order: Alphabetical or By Gender. If sorting by gender, also choose whether to group by gender or apply no grouping.
Choose whether to include an attendance summary at the bottom of the report.
Select the register class(es) on the left-hand side and click >> to move them to the right.
Click Preview to generate the register.
The Gauteng Department of Basic Education (GDE) requires a monthly E-Register in Excel format for pupil absenteeism reporting. This template has been integrated with d6+ to reduce administration.
Enter absentees as usual at My School > People > Learners > Attendance: Absentees or My School > People > Learners > Learners: Learner Leave.
If you have Excel export rights assigned by your Superuser, the E-Register button will appear at the bottom of the screen. Click it to download the prepared template.
Click Enable editing to open the file.
If prompted with "There is already data in [xxx] GDE Annex A. Do you want to replace it?" — click Yes.
Save separate files per grade per month and update the headings where necessary.
An attendance register is a blank or pre-populated document used to record attendance going forward. An attendance report shows past attendance data already captured in the system. Use My School > People > Learners > Attendance to view historical attendance reports.
The E-Register button only appears if your Superuser has assigned you Excel export rights. Contact your school administrator to have this right added to your profile.
Yes. Select multiple register classes from the left-hand list and click >> to move them all to the right before clicking Preview. Each class will be included in the generated register.
Select By Gender as the sort order. You will then be prompted to choose whether to group learners by gender or to list them without grouping.
