The system can be configured to send birthday SMS messages to Learners, Parents or Staff members. Messages are generated based on the date of birth entered on each person's profile.

For each recipient group, there are three delivery options. Click on the relevant tab (Learners, Parents or Staff Members) and select one:
Selecting this option completely turns off the birthday message service for the relevant recipient group. Click Save to apply.
The automated service runs like auto pilot — set it up once and it continues to run, even over holidays.
Select the time messages must be sent (07:00–18:00).
Select a birthday message template from your configured templates. A preview of the longest possible message in both system languages is displayed, along with an SMS length calculator. Note: each 160 characters costs 29c — this is an estimated calculation only.
Click Save. Changes take effect from the next day.
Selecting this option generates a task under My Home > Tasks on relevant birthdays.
On the day, your task screen will show prompts such as: "You have 3 learners celebrating their birthdays today. Click here to send birthday messages to them."
Select the template and the recipients to send the message to.
Click Proceed, then Continue to send the SMS messages.
Click Save for each recipient group. Changes take effect from the next day.
Changes only take effect from the next day. Remember to click Save for each recipient group (Learners, Parents, Staff Members) separately.
