How to set up and manage Budget Categories
Budget Categories are used to group and classify your school’s budget items. Each category must have an account type (Income/Expense or Capital) and names in both English and Afrikaans.
Finances > Budget > Categories
How do I add a budget category?
Click Add.
Enter the budget category name in both English and Afrikaans.
Choose the account type: Income/Expense account or Capital account.
Click Add to save the category.
How do I edit a budget category?
Click the radio button next to the budget category and click Edit.
Make the required changes and click Save.
How do I delete a budget category?
Click the radio button next to the category and click Delete. If the category is still linked to a General Ledger account, you must first unlink it from that GL account before it can be deleted.
Frequently asked questions
Why can’t I delete a budget category?
A budget category cannot be deleted if it is still linked to a General Ledger account. Go to the relevant GL account, unlink the budget category, then return here to delete it.
