How to fix the popup blocker when reports won't open

If you generate a report in PDF format and nothing appears to happen, the most likely cause is a popup blocker preventing the report from opening.

My Home > System Support > Check Popup Blocker

Why is my report not opening?

After clicking Preview, look for a Pop-up Blocked message in the URL bar at the top of your browser. If present:

  1. Click on the pop-up blocked message in the address bar.

  2. Select the option to Always show pop-ups from [your school URL]. This adds the site to the exceptions list.

  3. Generate the report again.

How do I check the popup blocker status?

  1. Go to My Home > System Support > Check Popup Blocker and run the test.

  2. If the popup blocker is active, the message will read: “Your popup blocker is currently blocking system functionality.”

  3. In Google Chrome: click the popup-blocked icon in the address bar and select Always show pop-ups from [your school URL].

What if I still have issues?

Option 1 — Internet Explorer Compatibility View: Press F12 on the problem screen, click Browser Mode in the dialog that opens, and select Compatibility View. The system will refresh. Log in and regenerate the report.

Option 2 — Update Adobe Acrobat Reader: Download the latest free version from https://get.adobe.com/reader/.

If the ABSA bank statement won’t download: In Internet Explorer, go to Tools > Internet Options > Privacy and remove the tick at Turn on pop-up blocker. Then go to the Advanced tab and reset the settings.

Frequently asked questions

I allowed pop-ups but reports still don't open. What else can I try?

Ensure you are using Google Chrome as your browser — some d6+ features require it. Also verify that Adobe Acrobat Reader is installed and up to date. If the issue persists, contact d6 support.
