The Classroom Timetables module allows users to view and print the scheduled activities for specific rooms. This feature is populated once a school has successfully built a timetable—either through the d6+ Timetabler module or an external tool—and uploaded the completed file to the system.
My School > Staff > Timetables: Classroom Timetables
The primary purpose of this feature is to provide a venue-specific view of school operations. It allows administrators and staff to:
Verify Room Utilization: See which subjects and teachers are allocated to a specific room at any given time.
Manage Facilities: Identify open slots for room bookings, meetings, or extracurricular activities.
Physical Posting: Print specific schedules to be displayed on classroom doors for learner and staff guidance.
Select the Academic Year from the dropdown menu.
Select the relevant Term associated with the uploaded timetable data.
The system will display a list of all rooms categorized as Classrooms used in a year.
Click on a Room Number/Name from the list to open the visual grid for that venue.
The timetable will display the cycle days (e.g., Day 1 to Day 10) and the periods as defined in your school's time structure.
Once the specific room's timetable is open, click on Print this timetable to generate a hard copy or a PDF version of the schedule.
Why is the classroom list empty or why can't I see any data? Timetables do not populate automatically. You must first complete the timetable construction process and ensures it is successfully Published/Uploaded to the d6+ platform. If the grid is empty, the timetable for that specific term may not have been uploaded yet.
Can I export all classroom timetables to Excel at once? No. When using the Excel Export button on the main Classroom Timetables screen, the system will only export a list of the room names and numbers. To get the actual schedule data, you must view the individual room or use the bulk printing reports available in the Timetabler module.
What happens if a room is changed during the term? If a class is moved to a different room, the change must be made in the master timetable and re-uploaded/re-synced. The Classroom Timetable view is a reflection of the master data and cannot be edited directly from this screen.
Restriction: Users cannot click and drag items or manually type into the classroom timetable grid.
Reason: This module is a display tool for the master academic schedule. To maintain data integrity, all structural changes (swapping rooms or periods) must be performed within the Timetabler module to ensure that teacher and learner schedules remain synchronized.
Restriction: Timetables for a new term will not appear until the previous term's timetable is rolled over or a new one is uploaded.
Reason: The system treats each term as a distinct data set to allow for seasonal changes in subject offerings or staffing.
