HOW TO USE THE D6 SCHOOL COMMUNICATOR IN d6 SYSTEM

  • Select what type of notice you would like to send.
  • Type in the ‘Headline’ for the notice.
  • Type in the applicable ‘Website Link’.
  • Type in the body of the ‘article’ - Note that there is a limit of 800 characters.
  • Select if the notice is for ‘All Groups’ or if you would only like to send to specific groups ‘Select Groups’.
  • If you selected ‘Select Groups’ the screen: Choose the relevant groups that should receive the notice and click on the ">>" button to select them.
  • Click on the "Send" button when you are done.

Why can’t I access the D6 School Communicator?

Access to the D6 School Communicator is granted at school level by the system ‘Administrator’. If you are unable to access the communicator, you probably have not been assigned rights to do so - Please contact the system Administrator to assign rights.

To enable access to the communicator, follow these steps in the system System:

My School > Staff > Staff

  • Click the edit button next to the selected entry you would like to make changes to; or select the "radio button" and click the "Edit" button at the bottom.
  • Scroll down to the ‘Communication Rights Information’:
  • There is an option to allow the user to use the Communicator function.
  • Using the drop down arrow select ‘Yes’ or ‘No’.
  • Click on the "Save" button to store the information.
