How to approve learner grades

How to approve learner grades

The DBE requires schools to submit their data regularly using SA-SAMS and Valistractor, which are not d6+ products. d6+ allows you to export your data to an SA-SAMS database, which can then be deployed in SA-SAMS and submitted to the Data Driven Districts (DDD) portal via Valistractor. The school is accountable for the quality of data submitted.

My School > Compliance

Our submission process is aligned with Circular 02/2017 from the Gauteng Department of Education (dated 9 February 2017).

Submissions overview

Public and subsidised schools are required to submit school information to the DBE. Although Independent and IEB schools are governed by their own body (e.g. ISASA), all schools are advised to check with their District what is required for compliance.

Export and submit on your behalf

d6 offers a service to export and submit to DDD on behalf of the school at a cost. Contact enrichment@d6.co.za for a quote.

NSC Registration

The NSC registration process for Grade 10–12 learners in the FET phase is required annually. d6+ automates this process to assist the school efficiently.

  • Capture information for learners with disabilities who qualify for accommodations or concessions in d6+ before exporting the database.

  • Completed forms are generated and printed in SA-SAMS and sent home for parent signatures.

Excel reports

The Department requires schools to complete various Excel templates for control documents, tools, measurement, analysis, schedules, and statistics. d6+ provides Excel Reports to reduce this administrative burden and save time.

IQMS capturing for final year-end submissions

This applies when your district requires electronic capture and submission of IQMS for departmentally paid staff (PS/CS Officials). Use the latest SA-SAMS version.

Frequently asked questions

Does d6+ integrate directly with SA-SAMS?

Not directly. d6+ exports your school data to an SA-SAMS database file. You then deploy that file in SA-SAMS, and submit it to the DDD via Valistractor. SA-SAMS and Valistractor are separate DBE products, not part of d6+.

Can d6 handle the export and submission for our school?

Yes. d6 offers a managed export and submission service at a cost. Contact enrichment@d6.co.za for a quote.

Where do I get the latest version of SA-SAMS?

Download SA-SAMS full installations and patches from the Thutong website.
