Creating a Calendar Event

Creating a Calendar Event

The calendar lets you share school events with parents and staff through the App. Events appear on the App calendar so community members can plan ahead. This feature is available on Standard, Advanced, and Premium plans.

Calendar → Create Event

How do I create a calendar event?

  1. Go to Calendar → Create Event. A pop-up screen will appear.

  2. Enter the event title (for example, Staff Meeting or Sports Day).

  3. Set the start and end date and time. Tick Full Day if the event lasts all day.

  4. If the event repeats, choose how often: daily, weekly, monthly, or annually.

  5. Enter a location. The portal will suggest addresses from Google Maps as you type.

  6. Choose which Group(s) can see this event, or select Everyone.

  7. Add any notes (for example, Please bring last meeting's action list).

  8. Tick the reminder box if you want members to receive a push notification the day before the event.

  9. Click Create Event.

Tips

  • Events in messages: You can also add an Event component directly inside a message — this is useful when you want to combine an event invitation with other information in a single communication.

Frequently asked questions

Can I set an event to repeat automatically?

Yes. When creating an event, choose a repeat frequency: daily, weekly, monthly, or annually. The event will automatically appear on the calendar at the specified interval.

Can I send a reminder to parents before the event?

Yes. Tick the reminder box when creating the event. Members will receive a push notification the day before the event to remind them.

Can I limit which groups see a calendar event?

Yes. When creating the event, choose specific groups rather than Everyone. Only members of the selected groups will see the event on their App calendar.

Which plans include the calendar feature?

The calendar is available on Standard, Advanced, and Premium plans. If you do not see the calendar option, check your plan level or contact d6 support.
