How to set up and manage curriculum remarks

How to set up and manage curriculum remarks

The Remarks module allows you to create remarks that appear on reports at the end of the year or term. Remarks can be created at group level (Quarter, Grade, Subject, Task/LO) or individually per learner. After remarks have been created in the Curriculum module, they must be applied at My School > People > Learners > Learner Marks > Capture Remarks.

My School > System > Curriculum > Databases > Set up Remarks

What types of remarks are available?

The page has 7 tabs. The first 4 apply to all learners in the group; the last 3 are for individual learners:

  • Tab 1 — Quarter Remarks: Appear on every learner's report for a specific quarter.

  • Tab 2 — Grade Remarks: Appear on every learner's report in a specific grade and quarter.

  • Tab 3 — Subject Remarks: Appear on every learner's report for a specific subject and quarter.

  • Tab 4 — Task/LO Remarks: Same as Subject Remarks, but at task level.

  • Tab 5 — Learner Remarks: General remark for a specific learner.

  • Tab 6 — Learner Subject Remarks: Subject remarks for a specific learner.

  • Tab 7 — Learner Task/LO Remarks: Task remarks for a specific learner.

How do I create a remark?

  1. Click on the relevant tab and click Add new.

  2. Select the Category (General, Positive, Negative, or Old Remarks).

  3. Type the remark in Afrikaans and in English. Use Translate to English for a new translation (via Google Translate — review the translation), or Copy to English if no translation is needed.

  4. Use Special fields (e.g., Nickname, He/She, Subject) to make the remark dynamic.

  5. Click Save.
