Parents can use the Absentee Notifications feature to inform the school of learner absenteeism via the d6 Communicator app. Notifications are listed here and, if accepted on the same day, an absentee entry is automatically posted on the d6+ platform.
My School > Communication > d6 App > Absentee Notifications
Important: Only same-day notifications can be accepted or rejected to update the d6+ platform. If you miss the same-day window, you must capture the absence manually at My School > Learners > Absentees.
The screen opens on Today’s Notifications by default.
Click on the learner’s line to highlight it. The Accept and Reject buttons become available.
Click Accept. Fill in the Absent Reason, a description, and choose whether an SMS should be sent to the parent (untick the SMS box if not required).
Click Submit. The d6+ platform is updated immediately.
To reject, highlight the notification and click Reject. Confirm the prompt. Once rejected, the notification is permanently deleted and cannot be retrieved.
Note: Parents can submit absent notices; followers can view but not capture them.
Important: Unprocessed notifications cannot update the d6+ platform automatically.
Click the Unprocessed Notifications tab.
Filter by Time frame: Future (dates after today) or Past (dates before today).
Click on the notification you want to edit or delete.
• Edit: Click Edit, update the Absent Reason or description, and click Submit.
• Delete: Click Delete and confirm. A success message confirms removal. Deleted notifications cannot be retrieved.
If a document was attached to the notification, it will display when you open the record.
Unprocessed notifications cannot automatically update d6+. You will need to capture the absence manually at My School > Learners > Attendance > Absentees.
