d6 Connect App Absentee Notifications

My School > Communication > Absentee Notifications 

Type <Ctrl> <F> to search for words in the article

Parents can use this feature to inform the school of learner absenteeism.  The notifications will be listed here and if accepted on the same day as the notification, an absentee entry will automatically be posted in the My School >Learner > Absentee section on the d6+ platform.

Accept / Reject Absentee Notifications for Today (same day)


Important: Only today's (same day) absentee notifications can be accepted / rejected to update on the d6+ Platform. If you did not accept on today (same day) you have to capture the absentee notice on the d6+ Platform via my School > Learners > Absentees.  

  • The default setting is to open this screen on Today’s Notifications.
  • Click on the line of the learner you need to Accept or Reject the Notification to highlight the line.
  • Notice that the Accept and Reject buttons are now available.
  • Click on the "Accept" Button.
A screen will display where you can fill in the "Absent Reason" and a Description as well as which Parent should receive an SMS - if no SMS should be sent you can untick the SMS box.
Click on "Submit".
Once Submitted the d6+ platform will be updated.
To Reject an Absentee Notification for today highlight the notification/s you need to reject and click on the "Reject" button.
You will receive a prompt from the system "Are you sure you want to delete this absent notification?" Click on "Ok" to confirm.
Once rejected the Notification is deleted from the system and cannot be retrieved.

Parents will be able to submit absent notices for their learners but followers will only be able to view and not capture

View/Edit/Delete Unprocessed Notifications


Important: Unprocessed Notifications cannot update on the d6+ platform.
  • Click on the "Unprocessed Notifications"  tab.
  • Note that you can filter on the "Time frame" button.
  • Future - Absentee Notices or dates greater than today's date.
  • Past - Absentee Notices smaller than today's date.
  • Click on the Absentee Notice that you want to edit / delete.
  • To edit the record click on the "edit" button.
  • Note that if a document was attached to the Absentee Notice it will display the document.
  • You will be able to edit the Absent Reason / Description.
  • Click on "submit".
  • The Absentee Notification will now show in the Unprocessed Notifications with the edited information.
  • To delete the Absentee Notification click on the "delete" button.
  • The system will prompt you to Confirm. Once you click on the Delete button the following will display: "Success: Unprocessed Notification has been removed".
  • Once deleted it cannot be retrieved.
