Watermarks

Watermarks

Overview

The Watermarks module allows schools to upload and manage background images that appear on printed documents. These backgrounds are applied to letterheads, report cards, and certificates generated within d6.

My School > General > Watermarks

  2. Select Continue to confirm, or Back to cancel. The system returns to the Backgrounds screen.

System Behaviour

  • Each background is associated with a specific document type. A background configured for a Report Card will only appear on report card prints, not on letterheads or certificates.

  • Multiple backgrounds can be created for the same document type, allowing different designs for different paper sizes or orientations.

  • Backgrounds are applied automatically when printing the associated document type. No additional selection is required at print time if only one background exists for that type.

Restrictions & Reasons

  • File format is restricted to JPEG. The system only accepts .jpg files to ensure consistent rendering across all document types and print environments.

  • File size is limited to 1 MB. Larger files may affect document generation performance and print output quality.

  • Names must be entered in both English and Afrikaans. The system is bilingual and requires both language fields to be completed before saving.
