Finding Your Way Around the Portal

Once you have logged in, this article explains the Home Page layout and the icons in the navigation bar at the top of every page.

What does the home page show?

After logging in, the Home page serves as a central landing screen, providing access to key areas of the platform via the main navigation menu, along with quick actions like creating a new message and viewing notifications.

What do the navigation bar icons mean?

At the top of every page, you will find the following icons:

  • Three-line menu (≡): Opens the main navigation panel on the left, where you can access sections such as Settings, Members, Groups, Calendar, and Messages.

  • Community Selector(▼): Displays a list of your communities if you manage more than one school.

  • Question mark (?): Access support resources, including contacting support, viewing the user manual, browsing FAQs, or submitting a feature request.

  • Notifications/Microphone Icon: Keeps you informed about update in the portal.

  • Your name: Directs you to your Profile. Click to update your details (name, email, phone) or to log out.

Tips for navigating

  • Quick support: Use the Question Mark (?) icon at any time to reach the d6 Support Desk quickly.

  • Multiple schools: If you manage more than one school, use the Drop-Down Arrow to switch between communities.

Frequently asked questions

Where do I find the main menu on the portal?

Click the three-line menu icon (≡) at the top left of any page. This opens the left-hand menu with all sections including Settings, Members, Groups, Calendar, and Messages.

How do I switch between schools if I manage more than one?

Use the drop-down arrow in the top navigation bar. It shows a list of all the communities linked to your account. Select the school you want to manage.

How do I contact d6 support from inside the portal?

Click the question mark (?) icon in the top navigation bar. This opens help options including contact support, the user manual, FAQs, and a feature request form.

What does the microphone icon do?

The microphone icon shows notifications about updates in your portal, such as new features or top tips on messaging your community.

How do I update my profile or log out?

Click on your name in the top right corner of the navigation bar. From there you can update your personal details (name, email, phone number) or log out of the portal.
