How to activate/ add promotion marks on the report card

This article explains how to activate promotion marks so that they print on your learners' report cards. It is for administrators who configure report card templates. The promotion mark is switched on under the additional mark types in the report card template.

How do I activate the promotion mark on the report card template?

Reports > Learners > Marks and Achievements > Report Cards

  1. Select Edit Chosen Templates.

  2. Go to the Marks tab.

  3. Scroll down to Print additional mark types and select Yes.

  4. Choose whether the promotion mark should print as an Extra column or Replace the last term.

  5. The additional mark types will now display on the left-hand side. Select the Promotion mark and move it to the right-hand side to activate it.

  6. Click Save.

Once this is done, the promotion mark prints on the report card according to the display option you selected.

What should I keep in mind?

Important: The school must have promotion formulas set up before the promotion marks will display on the report card. Without active promotion formulas, there is no promotion mark for the system to calculate or print.

  • Display options: The promotion mark can print as an extra column or replace the last term column. Only one option applies per template.

  • Activation: The promotion mark only prints once it has been moved to the right-hand side and the template has been saved.

  • Multiple templates: The setting applies per template. Repeat the steps for each template that must show the promotion mark.
