Frequently asked questions

Do I need to create a new budget every year?

Yes. A separate budget must be created for each financial year. If your budget structure stays largely the same year on year, you can save time by copying a previous year's budget — navigate to Finances > Budget > Annual Budgets, select the budget you want to copy, and click the Copy budget button.

Why do I need to enter the description in both English and Afrikaans?

d6 supports bilingual school environments. Entering descriptions in both languages ensures the budget is clearly labelled for all staff, regardless of their preferred language.

Can I create more than one budget for the same year?

Yes. You can create multiple budgets for the same year, each with a unique description. This is useful for schools that manage separate budgets for different funds or programmes.
