This article explains how to prevent a specific parent from receiving any further automated or manual communications from Fease. You can disable both email and SMS communication for a parent directly from their account record.
Debtors > Accounts
Disabling communication for a parent stops Fease from sending that person any automated or manual emails or SMS messages. This is useful when a parent has requested no further contact, has an alternate arrangement in place, or when communication to that individual needs to be disabled for any reason. The setting applies per parent and does not affect other members of the same account.
If a parent's communication has been disabled on the d6 platform, Fease will not recognise or apply that setting automatically. Fease operates independently and does not sync communication preferences from d6. To ensure that no communication is sent to a parent through Fease, the setting must be actioned directly on Fease by following the steps below.
Navigate to Debtors and click on Accounts.
Search for the account by typing the parent's name, surname, or family code into the search field.
Click on the name of the Accountable Person.
Under the Learners section, click on the name of the parent whose communication you want to disable.
Under the Disable Communication section, tick both checkboxes next to Email and SMS.
Click the save icon at the top of the page to save your changes.
Per-parent setting: Communication is disabled for the selected parent only — other contacts on the same account are not affected.
Both channels: Tick both the Email and SMS checkboxes to fully disable all communication. Leaving one unticked will allow that channel to remain active.
Reversible: You can re-enable communication at any time by returning to the same screen and unticking the checkboxes.
Not synced from d6: Disabling communication on the d6 platform has no effect on Fease. The two systems manage communication preferences independently. Always action this change on Fease directly.
No. The setting applies only to the specific parent you selected. Other contacts linked to the same account will continue to receive communications as normal.
Both channels appear as separate checkboxes under the Disable Communication section. Tick both to stop all automated communication. If you only tick one, the other channel will remain active.
No. Fease does not sync communication preferences from d6. Even if a parent is marked as opted out on d6, Fease will continue sending communications unless the setting is also disabled directly on Fease.
Yes. Return to the parent's record, navigate to the Disable Communication section, and untick the relevant checkboxes. Save your changes using the save icon at the top of the page.
Use the family code to narrow down the search — it is unique per account and will return an exact match. You can find the family code on the school's Fease account list or by checking with the school administrator.
