This article explains how to export learner and school data from the d6 platform. Exports are used for reporting to the Department of Education, sharing data with other systems, creating backup records, and generating customised reports for school management.
My School > Compliance
The d6 export function allows admins to extract structured data from the platform. Common use cases include exporting learner lists e.g classlists, marksheets, top achievers.
For general exports, navigate to My School > Reports.
For learner-specific exports, navigate to My School > Learners and use the export option from the learner list view.
My School> Compliance> Export to SASAMS (e.g., all learners, specific grade, attendance data, academic marks etc will be exported into a zipped database).
You will then be able to use that database to submit within SASAMS.
Learner list export: Full list of all enrolled learners with profile data including contact details, grade, and class assignment.
LURITS export: Structured data file formatted for submission to the Department of Education. Navigate to the LURITS section for this export.
Attendance export: Attendance records for a selected date range, grade, or class.
Compliance export: List of learners with outstanding or incomplete data items.
Financial export: Fee statements and payment records (available to users with finance access).
Data privacy: Exported files contain personal information about learners and parents. Handle and store these files in accordance with your school's POPIA compliance policy.
Large exports: Very large exports (entire school learner list with all fields) may take a few minutes to generate. Do not navigate away from the page while the export is processing.
LURITS submission: The LURITS export must be submitted through the official Department of Education portal, not directly from d6. Use d6 to generate and download the file, then upload it to the DoE system.
For most schools, exports complete within a few minutes. Very large schools with thousands of learners may experience longer processing times. If the export does not complete within 10 minutes, contact d6 support.
First, run a compliance check to identify any data gaps in your learner profiles. Resolve the outstanding items and then re-run the export. If the data is still incorrect after resolving compliance issues, contact d6 support with the specific field or record affected.
Yes. When generating an export, use the grade or class filters to limit the data to a specific group. This is useful for class teachers or grade heads who need data for their specific group without accessing the full school list.
