A Preset is a standardised task and assessment structure that is applied across your grades and terms. Linking a Preset does not remove or overwrite marks that have already been captured. Instead, the system adds the preset tasks alongside your existing non-preset tasks, and you then transfer the marks across.
Navigate to My School > Curriculum > Learning Programmes.
Locate the Preset column for each term.
Click on the blank space in the Preset column.
Select the relevant preset from the dropdown menu, for example Preset 2026.
Confirm that the preset displays all your terms and grades.
Click Accept Changes for each grade to confirm the link.
Repeat these steps until every grade is linked to a preset.
Navigate to My School > Learners > Learner Marks > Marks per Group.
Review the task list. You will see duplicate tasks and assessments: those that form part of the preset, and those that do not (where your marks currently sit).
Select the task or assessment that is not part of the preset.
Choose either Copy Marks or Move Marks.
Select the target task, which is the matching task that forms part of the preset.
Confirm the transfer and verify that the marks now appear against the preset task.
Copy Marks: Duplicates the marks from the original non-preset task onto the preset task. The marks then appear in both places. Use this option when you want to verify the marks before committing to the change.
Move Marks: Removes the marks from the original non-preset task and places them on the preset task only. No duplication remains. Use this option when you are confident the marks are correct and ready to be finalised.
Verify the marks first: Double-check that the marks you are transferring are correct before you choose to move rather than copy.
Check the target task: Confirm you have selected the correct preset task or assessment, as marks transferred to the wrong task will need to be corrected manually.
Copy first if you are unsure: Use Copy Marks initially, confirm that the marks have landed correctly on the preset task, and then remove the marks from the original task to clear the duplication.
