This article explains how to create a d6 Collection Partner account in d6 Finance. Once a collection partner account is set up, you can begin handing over debtor accounts to the collector directly from the finance module.
Finances > Debtors > Accounts
Debt collector integration allows schools to link their d6 Finance module directly to a collection partner. This enables you to hand over outstanding debtor balances, track handed-over accounts, and generate statements for the collector — all from within d6 Finance. Before you can hand over any accounts, the collection partner must first be set up in the system.
Follow these steps to create a new collection partner account.
Navigate to Finances > Debtors > Accounts.
Click the Create a debtor account button.
Under Collector information, click the Collector dropdown and select d6 Collection Partner.
Select the relevant partner from the d6 Collection Partner dropdown list. The system will automatically populate the partner's details.
In the Debtor account section, select all suitable Ledger control accounts.
Enter the Reference/Account number at the collector.
Click the Add button to save the account.
Once the account has been created, you can begin handing over debtor accounts to this collection partner.
Ledger control accounts: Ensure you select all the relevant ledger control accounts in the Debtor account block. These determine which financial transactions are linked to the collector.
Reference number: The Reference/Account number at the collector is the account identifier used by the collection partner. Confirm this with the collector before entering it.
Multiple collectors: You can set up more than one collection partner. Each partner will appear as an option when you create handover journals.
Navigate to Finances > Debtors > Accounts and click the Create a debtor account button. Select d6 Collection Partner from the Collector dropdown.
When you select a partner from the d6 Collection Partner dropdown, the system fills in the collector's details automatically. You only need to configure the ledger control accounts and enter the reference number.
Yes. You can create multiple collection partner accounts. Each one will be available as a handover destination when you process debtor handover journals.
This is the account identifier that the collection partner uses to track your school's account. Confirm this number with the collector before entering it in d6 Finance.
