How to set up and manage RSS Feeds
RSS Feeds (Rich Site Summary) allow your school to subscribe to a URL that delivers short articles or updates directly to selected d6 Connect channels. When a subscribed source publishes new content (such as a school blog post), it is automatically delivered to the channel.

How do I add an RSS feed?
Click the + Add button to add a new RSS feed.
Enter the RSS feed URL.
Choose whether to send a push notification: select No to deliver the message when the user next opens the app, or Yes to send an immediate pop-up notification even when the app is closed.
Select the channel target — choose the d6 Connect channel to which the RSS feed content should be sent.

What is an RSS feed and who sends them?
An RSS feed is a standardised format used by many websites (such as News24 or SuperSport) to publish updates that subscribers can receive in one place. Schools can instruct their website developers to set up RSS feeds so that blog posts or news items are automatically pushed to d6 Connect subscribers.
Which d6 Connect users will receive the RSS feed?
Users who are linked to the public channel selected as the channel target will receive the RSS feed content.
What is the difference between push notification Yes and No?
Selecting No delivers the feed when the user next opens the d6 Connect app. Selecting Yes sends an immediate pop-up notification to the user's device, even if the app is closed at the time.
