Keeping your d6 desktop app up to date ensures you have the latest features and fixes. You can also uninstall and reinstall the app if you are experiencing problems.
Download latest → Run installer → Old version replaced
The d6 desktop app usually updates automatically when a new version is available. If you need to update manually:
Visit www.d6.co.za and download the latest version.
Run the installer — it will replace the old version with the new one.
Open the app and log in as usual.
On Windows:
Open Settings > Apps > Apps & features.
Find d6 Communicator in the list.
Click on it and select Uninstall.
Follow the prompts to remove the app.
On Mac:
Open Finder and go to Applications.
Find the d6 Communicator app.
Drag it to the Trash.
Empty the Trash to complete the removal.
No, your profile and school connections are stored on the server. After reinstalling and logging in, everything will be restored.
Try uninstalling and reinstalling the app completely. This often resolves issues that a simple update cannot fix.
Open the d6 desktop app and look in the Settings or About section. The version number is usually displayed there.
