You need an electronic copy of your bank statement before importing. The most common method is to log in to your bank's internet banking website and download the file from there. Different file formats are required for different banking institutions, and in some cases for different account types within the same institution.
Finances > Cashbook: Import Bank Statements
It is best practice to rename downloaded bank statement files using the format YYYYMMDD (e.g. 20150315.ofx). This makes files easy to locate when sorted by name. If your school has multiple bank accounts, add a prefix character to distinguish them (e.g. M20150315.ofx for a Money Market account).
Finance users are reminded by a system task to import their bank statements if they have not done so in the last 30 days. Note that this reminder is not per bank account — if your school has more than one account requiring imports, it remains your responsibility to check which account the notice applies to.
Select the bank account from the drop-down menu.
Select the relevant month and year for the import.
Click Choose File and browse to the folder where the downloaded file was saved.
Select the file and click Import.
A message confirms the import: Bank statement successfully imported. Do you want to do a bank reconciliation now?
Click Yes to go directly to the Bank Reconciliation screen, or No to stay on the import screen and import another account's statement.
If an error occurs during import, rectify the problem or e-mail support@d6plus.co.za for assistance. With your e-mail request, always include the PDF as well as the Import file, and the error message you received when you imported from your side.
The required format depends on your bank and account type. Log in to your bank's internet banking and download the statement in the format recommended for that institution. Common formats include .ofx and .csv. Contact d6 support if you are unsure which format to use.
Check that the file format is correct for your bank and account type, and that the file has not been edited or corrupted. If the issue persists, contact support@d6plus.co.za for assistance. With your e-mail request, always include the PDF as well as the Import file, and the error message you received when you imported from your side.
d6+ sends a reminder task if no bank statement has been imported in the last 30 days. Best practice is to import statements regularly to keep your bank reconciliation up to date.
