This function allows users to manage calendars and calendar events.

My School > System > Communication > Share documents & information > Calendar Events

Who can manage calendars and events?

  • Manage calendars (create/edit/remove): Only users with Superuser or Administrator rights at My School > People > Staff > Staff > Select the staff profile and edit Communication rights under May use calendar events. Moderators may edit existing calendars and assign authors/editors.

  • Manage calendar events: Moderators, Administrators, and authors/editors specifically assigned calendar rights.

How do I import calendar events from Excel?

It is possible to import calendar events from Excel if the table is in the prescribed format. Download the Required Excel layout template and use it.

  1. Select the calendar for which events must be imported.

  2. Click Import from Excel and select the file.

How do I add a calendar event directly?

  1. Select the relevant Calendar by clicking the dropdown arrow.

  2. Click Add.

  3. Enter the Title (required). Add a description, date, time and location (optional).

  4. Select the calendar(s) for which this event applies by moving them to the right. The event appears in all active calendars on the right.

  5. Attach attachments if needed — select a File (max 25 MB) or a URL web link.

  6. Select to send a News item if needed.

  7. Click Save/Publish to save the event.

Note: Authors may only save as draft. Editors may publish their own events. Moderators/Administrators may also publish other users' events.

Frequently asked questions

How do I navigate between dates in the calendar view?

Click the second tab to view the Calendar. Use the blue circles with arrows to navigate between dates, or click the Month/Week/Day buttons for different views.

What is the maximum attachment size?

Attachments may not exceed 25 MB. Both files and URL web links can be used as attachments on a calendar event.

What format must the Excel file be in for import?

The column headings in the Excel file must exactly match the prescribed format. Download the Required Excel layout template via the import screen and use it as a basis.
