A learning program has to exist for each grade, per term to enable users to Set up the Learning programs at My School > Curriculum > Set up Learning Programs.
The existing list of learning programs can be filtered according to their status. One or all of these learning programs can be displayed: Active, Inactive and/or Deleted.
Schools that make use of d6 Connect, can indicate here when the marks per term should be released for parents to view.
View Existing Learning Programs
Details of the existing learning programs are displayed in the following columns:
Alias Afr/Eng: Name of the learning program in Afrikaans and English.
Curriculum: The selected curriculum for the grade per term. If a school needs to use different curricula at the same time, contact Support to assist with the setup
Grade: The grade selected at the top of the page
Scale Set: The scale set used to indicate mark levels. Eg. 7-1 level
Term: The specific term that has been set up.
Preset: d6 offers a quick way to set up your curriculum with all the required tasks, assessments and weights according to the CAPS requirements for the current year. These requirements are provided by the DOE during the first term of each year in the form of a SA-SAMS patch . As soon as they release it, we can set up our Preset curriculum. Keep an eye on our System notices where we will inform you as soon as it is available.
Select the applicable Preset if you would like to make use of it. If you don't select a Preset, you have to set up your own tasks, assessments and weights per grade, per subject at "Setup Learning Program". You will also not be able to set up the Promotion formulas with the click of a button, but will have to set it up manually per subject per grade to calculate the pass/retained results for learners at the end of the year yourself.
After selecting a Preset curriculum, you will still be able to make changes to the tasks and assessments. This will however mean that you will have to set up the Promotion Formulas for that subject yourself.
IMPORTANT: As soon as you select the Preset setup for a term, any marks that were entered for the specific term will be deleted. It is therefor advisable to wait for the Preset before entering marks in Term 1.
Promotion calculation method: The promotion method according to the selected curriculum.
Endorsement calculation method: The endorsement method for grades 10 -12,
according to the selected curriculum.
Status: The status of the specific learning program. Deleted learning programs will show in red. Inactive programs can be re-activated at any stage.
Connect mark release date: Select a date per term when the marks will be available for parents to view in d6 Connect. If no date is indicated, the marks will not be released. These dates have to be indicated every year. Five days before the marks will be released, a task will appear to warn the school.
