This article explains which learner fields are mandatory for LURITS and CEMIS Departmental reporting, and how to ensure your data is compliant before export.
My School > Learners > Learners
The Department of Basic Education requires schools to submit learner data via LURITS and CEMIS regularly. d6 generates the required export files, but each learner record must be complete and accurate for the export to succeed.
Ethnicity: Required for all learners. The system will flag this if missing during export.
Gender: Required for all learners. The system will flag this if missing during export.
ID number: Required for SA citizens. Validated against birth date and gender digits (7–10).
Home language: Required for Departmental reporting.
LSEN weight: Must reflect the correct value for learners with special educational needs.
During export, d6 flags learner records with missing mandatory fields. Resolve these before submitting to the Department.
Learner records with missing ethnicity or gender will not be included in the export until corrected.
Ethnicity, gender, ID number (SA citizens), home language, and LSEN weight are all required. The system flags missing fields during export.
The most common reason is a missing mandatory field — typically ethnicity or gender. Open the learner's record, complete the missing fields, and re-run the export.
Yes. For SA citizens, d6 validates the ID number against the learner's birth date and gender digits (positions 7–10). An error will display if the ID number does not match.
