What this product means for your school

The Promotion Formula Support Plan – CAPS is a structured support service where the OSM team configures and maintains your school’s promotion formulas for all DOE subjects within the d6 system.

This plan works together with the Curriculum Support Plan (CAPS) and cannot function independently. A CAPS preset must be active in the curriculum before promotion formulas can be correctly inserted. Without the CAPS curriculum preset in place, promotion formulas cannot be applied correctly.

What the OSM team does

When your school is on this plan, the OSM team will:

• Set up promotion formulas for all DOE subjects.

• Configure the formulas in the system.

  My School > Curriculum > Subject Specific Formulas > Promotion Formulas

• Use the preset function on the formula page to correctly insert CAPS-aligned formulas.

• Ensure all DOE subjects have correctly applied promotion calculations.

This setup is only possible when:

• The CAPS curriculum preset is active, and

• Subjects are activated across all four terms.

What this plan covers

• DOE subject promotion formula setup

• CAPS preset-based formula configuration

• System-based formula alignment using the preset function

Not included in this plan

• Non-DOE subject promotion formulas (school responsibility)

• Curriculum setup or changes

• Subject setup or allocation

• Calculation methods or decision guidelines

Non-DOE subjects and their promotion structures remain the school’s responsibility.

Important notes

• The preset button on the formula page only works when the CAPS curriculum setup is correctly completed.

• Any changes to the CAPS curriculum (especially weightings) may impact promotion formulas.

• If CAPS-aligned weightings are changed, the promotion formula must also be reviewed and updated.

If I change task weightings outside CAPS, will it affect my promotion formula?

Yes, it can. Any changes outside CAPS may impact the accuracy of your promotion formulas. Please ensure formulas are updated accordingly, and contact us for support if needed.

Why is the CAPS preset important for this plan?

The promotion formula system is fully dependent on the CAPS preset. Without it, formulas cannot be correctly applied.

Does this plan include non-DOE subjects?

No. Non-DOE subject promotion formulas are managed by the school.
