How to use Outstanding Compliance Tasks

How to use Outstanding Compliance Tasks

Outstanding Compliance Tasks on d6+ display important data validations in priority order. Attending to these tasks before exporting reduces repeated corrections and re-exports. They validate data more thoroughly than SA-SAMS itself or DBE Data Quality Tools, and include required EMIS checks for better data quality.

My School > Compliance > Outstanding Compliance Tasks

  • Each task provides a click here link to take you directly to where the issue must be corrected.

  • Important tasks are shown in red. Tasks needing urgent attention before SA-SAMS export will flash in red.

How are tasks grouped?

Tasks are grouped into sections based on their effect on submissions:

  • d6+ system setup required for all submissions

  • SA-SAMS Module 17 — will prevent the required deployment

  • SA-SAMS Error and omissions 16.19 validations visible to DBE

  • Valistractor results and icons affected

  • Manage school risks and complete data quality

What types of validations are included?

  • Curriculum tasks — ensure everything is completed before printing report cards and submitting databases per term.

  • SID (Severe and Profound Intellectual) — curriculum setup for Special Needs Schools, including learner classification, LURITS subject codes, and custom admin year-end promotion.

  • Learner ages — flags ages outside the DBE age cohort to reduce audit checks and doubtful learner funding issues.

  • Learner study permits — covers all legislative scenarios for immigrant learners.

  • Learners’ previous country — field for immigrant learners that exports to SA-SAMS.

  • Learner support — highlights missing per-term capturing to support funding, concessions, and special needs assessment. An Excel report is available at My School > Learners > Learner Support.

  • Educator experience — validates captured data using mathematical logic for EMIS and HR staff submissions.

  • Educator main subjects studied — captures and exports staff qualification subjects to SA-SAMS.

  • Educator & staff previous year absentees — exported alongside current-year records for departmental data collection.

  • School sports houses — exported to SA-SAMS including learners in teams and extramural activities. A task appears if no sports houses are set up.

  • School hostels — hostel details and learner assignments export to SA-SAMS (My School > General).

  • School examination board — found under My School > General > School Setup; defaults to DBE but can be changed.

  • School logo — exported to SA-SAMS for printing and exporting of schedules and statistical reports.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to resolve every task before exporting?

Tasks shown in flashing red must be resolved before exporting to SA-SAMS. Other tasks are recommended corrections that will improve data quality and reduce re-submissions, but may not block the export.
