Outstanding Compliance Tasks

Outstanding Compliance Tasks

Outstanding Compliance Tasks on d6+ show important validations by priority from top to bottom.  By attending to these tasks before exporting, you will reduce repeated corrections and exports.

These tasks validate data way further than SA-SAMS itself or Data Quality Tools used by the DBE in other provinces. In addition, it also contains required EMIS checks for better data quality. The process towards a finalized submission at year-end is also supported by constant validation.
  1. The tasks provide a link ('click here') to direct you to the place to correct the issue.
  2. Important tasks are shown in red.
  3. Tasks that need urgent attention before exporting to SA-SAMS will flash in red.

Tasks are grouped into different sections depending on their effect on submissions

  1. d6+ System setup is required for all submissions
  2. SA-SAMS Module 17 will prevent the required deployment
  3. SA-SAMS Error and omissions 16.19 validations are visible to DBE
  4. Valistractor results and icons will be affected
  5. Manage school risks and complete data quality
Overview

  • Curriculum tasks were included in addition, to ensure everything is completed before the printing of report cards and followed by submission of databases to districts or DDD per Term.

  • SID where the curriculum setup now includes “Severe and Profound Intellectual” learner educational streams on d6+ for Special Needs Schools. It includes school setup options, Learner classification, correct Lurits subject codes, grades (relevant years) and admin year-end custom promotion. It also includes the preset curriculum for these instances.

  • Learner ages found outside of the DBE age cohort for learners in mainstream and special needs streams respectively, with the aim to reduce the need for audit checks by EMIS or refusal for the funding of doubtful learners by the Treasury.

  • Learner study permits were extended to cover all legislative scenarios for immigrants.

  • Learners' previous country field was added to d6+ for capturing applicable to immigrant learners and will now export to SA-SAMS.

  • Learner support where capturing was not found per term is highlighted. This is in support of policies that improve possible funding to the school and to assist with learner concessions, intervention, accommodations and special needs assessment process where and when applicable. We have also added an Excel report under My School > Learners > Learner Support.

  • Educator experience to ensure captured data are tested using mathematical logic that makes sense. This is required as the next priority for EMIS, and to improve HR staff information submitted for public schools in essence.

  • Educator main subjects studied were added to d6+ on the staff record for capturing and exports to SA-SAMS as a final requirement for staff qualifications and experience.

  • Educator and staff previous year absentee records are also now exported with those for the current year to SA-SAMS. This is to assist with the accessibility of the information after the event if needed but also supports the Department’s data collection process and needs in terms of submissions.

  • School sports houses are now exported to SA-SAMS, including learners allocated to teams and individual extramural activities. If no sports houses were set up, a task informs the school.

  • School hostels with required details can now be captured on d6+ under My School > General. Learners can be assigned and the data will be exported to SA-SAMS.

  • School examination board field was added under the “Examination information centre” section of My School > General > School Setup. It was set to “DBE” option by default. It can be changed if needed.

  • School’s logo is also now exported to SA-SAMS on the main menu and for the printing and/or exporting of schedules and statistical reports from SA-SAMS so officials get what they recognize and expect. Click the “Graphic” and “School” text boxes in SA-SAMS where and when applicable.
