Type <Ctrl> <F> to search for words in the article.

In this report, the achievements (marks) scored by a learner are represented by emotional faces (smiley face report card).

An individual school logo can be printed on the Smiley face report card. Send the desired logo to the Support office to upload.
This icon's function is now included with all other templates in the REPORTS > Learners > Report Cards.  
If you had a Pre-Primary report card on this module before, it will now be available at My School > Curriculum > Report Card Templates

The following adjustments will be possible.  Double click on your Template name to edit it.

There are 5 tabs at the top of the page: Format, Marks, Promotion requirements, Remarks and Signatures.

Format tab

  1. Choose the type of letterhead that will be displayed at the top of the report. You can choose from Pre-Printed, Standard, Digital (your own letterhead sent to Support) or Provincial.
    Note: If you want a different logo on the Smiley (Pre-primary) report cards, send a sample to Support.
  2. Choose whether you want to print absent days on the report card. Choose the last day of term, or a custom date. 
  3. Choose whether you want the subject teacher's name to print on the report card and the format it should be in.
  4. Choose if you want to print the school re-open date.
  5. If you make use of the Digital letterhead, indicate where the report card should start printing on the page to prevent printing over your letterhead.
  6. Choose the report card heading that will be printed at the top of the report card. You can choose from 
    1. None, 
    2. Report Card, 
    3. Progression Report, 
    4. Pro Forma Progression Report  - Not final, (Pro Forma Progression Report is printed for learners to review their marks before the final report card is sent to parents,) 
    5. Interim report and 
    6. Custom Report Heading to enter your own heading in the next field.
  7. Choose the Scale table that will be printed. You can choose between None, Levels and descriptions or Percentages, Levels and descriptions.
  8. Choose the Scale table's sorting.
  9. Tick the box if you want additional level descriptors to be displayed in the scale table. Eg. "a" for absent or " * " for "not submitted".
  10. Choose the scale table's line height.
  11. Choose the format of the learner's name on the report card.
  12. Choose the format of the learner's grade.
  13. Enter the line height for the marks.
  14. Enter the width of the marks column. (40 will print equal column widths)
  15. Enter the letter size for the printed marks.
  16. Choose the format of the Date on the report card to print.
  17. Click on the "Save" button to commit your changes.

Marks tab

Marks:

  • Assessment types: Select Combined Marks.
  • Print the following Mark Types: Choose the Smiley mark type
  • Select a Cross or Bullet point to indicate the achievement level

Subject level:
  • Choose to which level you want the report card to print marks. You can choose from Subject/ Learning Area, Component/ LO/Task or Assessment.
  • Choose the shading, if preferred, to appear at the background of the Subjects.
  • Enter the font size of the subject/ learning area.
  • Tick the box if you wish to Bold the font of the Subject/ Learning area name.
  • Choose how the subject/ learning area mark will be printed in the marks column.
  • You can choose from Percentage, Level or Both.
  • If you chose Component/ LO/task level, a menu will be available which will allow you to do setups.
    • Choose the shading, if preferred, to appear at the background of the Component/ LO/ Task.
    • Enter the font size of the Component/ LO.
    • Choose how the Component/ LO will be printed in the marks column. You can choose from Percentage, Level, Both or None.
    • Tick the box if you want to Print the Component/ LO Raw Mark.
    • Tick the box if you want to Print the Component/ LO Weight Mark.

Assessment Level:
  • If you choose Assessment, a list of options will show which will allow you to do setups.
  • Choose the shading, if preferred, to appear at the background of the Assessment.
  • Enter the font size of the Assessment.
  • Choose how the Assessment mark will be printed in the marks column. You can choose from Percentage, Level, Both or None.
  • Tick the box if you want to Print the Assessment Raw Mark.
  • Tick the box if you want to Print the Assessment Weight Mark.

Print additional mark types:
  • If you choose to print additional mark types, select the types you want to print.  and if the Promotion should print in an extra column. 
    Note: Additional mark types can be requested from the Support office
  • Indicate the number of decimals that the displayed marks should be rounded too. The original marks in the system don't change. 
  • Indicate the way FE learner averages should be calculated. 
    Average of all subjects or,
    Core subjects and best 3 electives: For learners hat take extra subjects, the system will take the best 3 marks.
  • Tick the box if you want "Subjects that do not form part of the average" printed at the bottom of the report card and in a separate section. An option will become available that will allow you to choose whether you want to print a Learner Average for the Subjects that " Do not form part of the average". 
  • Click on the "Save" button to commit your changes.

Promotion requirements tab

  • Choose if you want to print Promotion requirements Yes or No. A line indicating why a learner failed will be printed. E.g. "50% in Home Language needed."
  • Choose the type of result to be printed from Print nothing, Print code (P/NA/R) or Print description (Pass/ Not Achieved / Retained).
  • Notes: If these don't print, make sure your Decision Guidelines are linked at My School  > Curriculum > Decision guidelines .
                Remember that your Term Decisions (My School > Curriculum> Term Decisions) should be calculated before it will print on the report card.
  • Select where the verdicts should print. Table, will print a verdict at the bottom of each term mark column, and Comment will print a line for the current term.
  • Print learner promotion comments: This should ONLY be selected at the end of the year. The line: "Congratulations! You have been promoted to Grade 2" will be printed.
  • Click on the "Save" button to commit your changes.

Remarks tab

  • Indicate the Remark line height.
  • Should you wish to print Remarks for Subjects/ Learning Areas click on the Remarks tab. 
  • More options will be displayed where you can select to print a background shading or not and enter the number of empty lines printed after the remarks.
    Note: You should only tick this option if you have created and linked generic remarks for Subject/ Learning areas (My School > Curriculum > Remarks), (My School > Learners > Remarks).
  • Should you wish to print Teacher Remarks, Tick the box. More options will be displayed where you can select to print a frame around teacher remarks and type in the font size of the remarks. You can enter the number of empty lines to be printed after teacher remarks.
  • Should you wish to print lines for parents to enter remarks, tick the box. More options will be displayed where you can enter the number of empty lines to be printed.
  • If you would like to print any Biographical Information on the report card, please select the relevant information to be printed in the left dual list box and move to the right dual list box. 
    Note: If no biological information has been entered into the system, please do not select. 
  • Click on the "save" button to commit your changes.

Signatures Tab

  1. Tick the box if you wish to print a signature area for the Teacher. More options will be displayed where you can choose the Format of the name (preferred name or initials) and the Title of the teacher (register teacher, educator or custom title.)
  2. Tick the box if you wish to print a signature for the Grade Head. More options will be displayed where you can choose the Title of the teacher (none, grade head, grade tutor, guardian, deputy principal and custom title.)
  3. Tick the box if you want a space for a Parent signature to be printed.
  4. Tick the box if you want the Principal's signature printed. More options will be displayed where you can choose the Format of the Principal's name ( None, Title - Preferred name - Surname, Title-, Initials- Surname ) and the Principal's Title (Acting Principal, Principal, Acting Head: Academic or Custom Title.)
    Note: The Principal's signature has to be sent to Support as an image (*.jpg/*.png) to load onto your d6+ system. Only one principal's signature can be accommodated.
  5. Tick the box if you wish to print a signature date beneath the signature.
  6. Tick the box if you wish to print the saved principal's signature on the report card.
  7. Click on the "save" button to commit the changes.

To Generate the report cards:

Go to Reports > Learners > Report Cards
You can now print report cards based on the templates you designed.
