The Trial Balance displays a list of general ledger accounts with the total amounts of all transactions posted to each ledger account. The report must always balance to R0.00.

How do I generate a trial balance?

1. Choose whether to run the report to a specific date or over a period.

2. Select the columns to display.

3. Choose whether to consolidate profile control accounts.

4. Select the account under which projects must be included.

5. Choose whether to consolidate projects.

6. Choose whether to show accounts or projects with a zero balance.

7. Choose whether to show Balance Sheet and Income Statement accounts separately.

8. Click View to generate the report as a PDF. Adobe Acrobat Reader is required to view the PDF. Use the d6 Finance Tool if you need an Excel version.

Important notes

• Date vs period: Running to a date includes opening balances; running for a period excludes them.

• Consolidated profiles: Consolidating profile control accounts groups them together for a simpler view.

• Zero balances: You can choose to show or hide accounts and projects with a zero balance.
