Reading Your Message Report

Reading Your Message Report

After sending a message, d6 Communicator gives you detailed statistics about who received it, read it, and responded. This article explains all the information available in the message report.

Messages → [Open a sent message] → Report / Statistics view

What can I see in the report?

  • Total engagement: A pie chart showing the percentage of people who read vs. did not read the message.

  • Platform distribution: A chart showing how messages were delivered: App, Email, or SMS. This helps you understand how your community is accessing communications.

  • Payments: Shows how many people have paid (if a Payment Item component was included in the message).

  • Form responses: Shows how many people responded to a form. You can download the responses as an Excel file for record-keeping.

  • File opens: Shows how many people opened each attached file.

  • Individual details: Click on a person's name to see a timeline of when the message was sent, delivered, and opened by that specific person.

Tips

  • App adoption: Use the Platform Distribution chart to gauge how many parents are using the App vs. relying on email or SMS — this can inform onboarding campaigns.

  • Export data: Download Form Response data as Excel for use in spreadsheets or reports.

Frequently asked questions

Can I download form responses as a spreadsheet?

Yes. In the message report, go to the Form Responses section and click the download button. The responses will be exported as an Excel file.

How do I see if a specific parent read my message?

Click on the person's name in the report. A timeline will show when the message was sent, delivered, and opened by that specific person.

What does the platform distribution chart tell me?

It shows how your messages were delivered across App, Email, and SMS. This helps you understand how parents access communications and whether an App adoption campaign would be beneficial.
