The Rules and Learner Allocations feature allows you to allocate learners to sport house teams using various methods. There are three steps: Step 1 sets up the allocation rules, Step 2 applies the rules, and Step 3 creates exceptions or manual allocations.
My School > System > Sport > Rules and Learner Allocations
Select one of the following allocation methods:
Select the year and house sport team.
Select the surname letters to allocate and click the arrow button to assign them. You can subdivide a letter by ticking the checkbox next to it.
Click Save.
Select the year and house sport team.
Select register classes on the left and click the arrow button to allocate them.
Click Save.
Select the year and note the current allocation method.
Tick the checkbox if you want to change the method, then select the new method.
Click Save.
This takes you directly to Step 3 where you can manually assign learners to teams.
Select the year.
Tick the checkboxes to take age, gender, or ethnic groups into account.
Click Save.
Select the year and choose the allocation method you set up in Step 1.
The system will apply the rules and allocate learners accordingly.
Select the year, house sport team, and grade.
Allocate or remove learners using the arrow buttons.
Click Save.
This depends on your school's preference. Surname allocation works well for smaller schools, while demographic allocation helps ensure an even spread across teams based on age, gender, and ethnicity.
Yes. Use Step 3 to create exceptions and manually move learners between teams after the rules have been applied.
