Scheduling a Message to Send Later

Scheduling a Message to Send Later

You do not have to send messages immediately. The Schedule feature lets you set a specific date and time for a message to go out automatically — useful for planning communications in advance.

Messages → New → Next → Schedule dropdown

How do I schedule a message?

  1. After creating your message, click Next.

  2. Click the dropdown arrow next to the Send button and choose Schedule.

  3. Pick the date and time you want the message to go out.

  4. Confirm. The message will be sent automatically at the scheduled time.

System behaviour and restrictions

  • Send immediately: You can still click Send Now to bypass the schedule and send immediately.

  • Cancel scheduled send: You can click Cancel Send to stop a scheduled message before it goes out.

  • Status indicator: Scheduled messages remain in the Messages list with a Scheduled status until they are sent.

Frequently asked questions

Can I cancel a scheduled message before it sends?

Yes. Find the message in the Messages list (it will show a Scheduled status), open it, and click Cancel Send. The message will not be delivered.

Can I edit a message after scheduling it?

You would need to cancel the scheduled send first, make your changes, and then schedule it again with the updated content.

What time zone does the scheduler use?

The scheduler uses the time zone set in your school profile under Settings. Make sure this is correct so messages go out at the intended time.
