How to set up school activities and categories
School Categories and Activities are used to group different achievements. This article explains how to add new activities, edit existing ones, and set the order on printed certificates.
My School > System > Achievements > School Activities
What are the achievement categories?
There are five main categories that cannot be changed: Academic, Sport, Culture, Leadership, and Other. Academic certificates are awarded automatically based on learner marks; non-academic certificates are awarded manually.
How do I add a new activity?
Click Create new and select the achievement category.
Enter the activity name in both Afrikaans and English.
Set the activity order (determines the print order on certificates).
Click Save.
Frequently asked questions
Can I edit or delete a main category?
No. The five main categories are fixed and cannot be changed or deleted.
Can I restore a deleted activity?
No. Use Inactive rather than Deleted if you want to deactivate an activity temporarily.
Why must the activity name be entered in both languages?
The system is bilingual. Entering the name in both languages ensures it displays correctly regardless of the language in which the certificate or report is generated.
