School Setup

The School Setup is the first and most important step to complete before you can begin using the system. Complete all information as fully and accurately as possible — this data is used for LURITS exports and is a prerequisite for many other functions throughout the year.

Basic school information

Enter the school name (long/medium/short), type, ownership, medium, language of instruction, province, district, EMIS number, and contact details. Pin the school on the Google map to generate GPS coordinates.

Academic and administrative settings

Configure hostels, after-care centre, double shift, pre-school grades, admin numbers, transfer cards, and SAMS requirements including school type, SID/LSEN accommodation, number of admin computers, and cycles per phase.

Communication settings

Set up conduct code information (discipline head, reset period, SMS/d6 Connect notifications), absenteeism notifications, and d6 Communicator integration details.

Financial settings

Complete the main bank account, financial information, debit order details (StratCol integration), d6 Cashless/Sticitt integration, third-party integrations, auditor details, and stock management information.

Frequently asked questions

Who completes the initial School Setup?

The initial School Setup is partially completed by the d6 implementer. Adjustments can be made at any time by a user with School Administration rights.

Can I use my own letterhead on reports?

Yes. Email a scanned copy of your letterhead to the Support team and the implementer will configure it.

Why must I choose the conduct code reset period carefully?

The reset period determines when discipline totals are reset to zero. Do not change this setting during the year as it will recalculate all historical totals and data may be lost.
