How to register for training sessions

The Training Sessions module gives staff access to all available d6 training opportunities, including Online Training, Classroom Training, and e-Learning courses. This article explains how to register for a session, what you need to attend online, and how to troubleshoot connection issues. User manuals for any module can be accessed directly by clicking the (?) button at the top of the screen.

How do I register for a training session?

  1. Select the module you would like training on.

  2. Select the date and time of the training session.

  3. Click the Register button.

  4. Fill in your details on the booking screen.

  5. Click Register now to confirm your booking.

  6. You will receive a confirmation email containing a link to join the session at the scheduled time.

  • No sessions available? If no sessions are scheduled for your required module, please e-mail support@d6.co.za to request when the next training sessions will be held.

  • Unique email required: Each attendee must register with a unique email address. If two people book with the same address, only one will be registered.

  • Classroom cancellations: Classroom bookings not cancelled at least 24 hours in advance will still be billed.

What do I need to attend an online session?

  • Internet connection: A stable, functioning connection at the time of the session.

  • Quiet environment: A space without interruptions to follow the session.

  • Audio: A headset or speakers on a PC; the built-in speakers must be working on a laptop.

  • Time: Allow adequate time for the full session duration.

  • Join early: Save your confirmation email and join the session at least 10 minutes before it starts to ensure a successful connection.

What do I do once the session has started?

  1. Familiarise yourself with the Control Panel on the left-hand side.

  2. Download the session manual via the Handouts button.

  3. Type questions in the Chatbox — these can be directed to the trainer only, or shared with all attendees.

  • Certificate of Attendance: The training software records active session time. If you do not spend adequate time in the session, a Certificate of Attendance will not be issued.

What do I do if I have connection problems during a session?

  • Cannot join: Contact the us on 087 820 0088.

  • Lost connection: Close the tab and click the Join button in your confirmation email to re-join the session.

  • Want to speak: Click the mic button in the left panel to request microphone activation.

Frequently asked questions

Can two staff members register using the same email address?

No. Each attendee must register with a unique email address. Bookings are tied to the email address, so if two people use the same address, only one registration will be recorded.

Will I receive a Certificate of Attendance after the session?

Only if you spent adequate active time in the session. The training software tracks how long each attendee was present. If your attendance time is insufficient, a certificate will not be issued.

What happens if I miss a classroom session I registered for?

Classroom bookings that are not cancelled at least 24 hours in advance will be billed, even if you do not attend. Contact the training team as early as possible to cancel or reschedule.

How do I rejoin an online session if I lose my connection?

Close the browser tab and click the Join link in your original confirmation email to reconnect. If you continue to experience issues, call the training department on 087 820 0088.
