A Public Follower is someone who follows your school on the d6 Communicator App but is not in your formal member database — for example, a grandparent, community member, or prospective parent.
This feature is only available for open communities. If your school is set up as a closed or private community, public followers are not applicable.
Self-follow: Public followers can find and follow your school through the App without being formally registered in your database.
Default groups: They are automatically added to any default groups you have configured. This means they will receive messages sent to those groups.
Not in Members list: Public followers do not appear in your Members list unless you promote them to full members.
If you need to add a public follower to specific groups or link them to a learner, you can promote them to a full member from their profile in the Public Followers section.
