User Settings

User Settings

The User Settings module allows users to update their personal information, change their password, set up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA), and change the programme language.

My Home > My User Settings

Password

  • Passwords and usernames are case-sensitive — capitals and lowercase must be entered exactly as originally configured.

  • Password strength is tested on entry. If your current password is considered weak, a task will appear under My School > Tasks prompting you to update it.

  • If you have forgotten your password, click the Forgot my password link on the login screen to receive a reset link via email or SMS. Alternatively, ask your System Administrator to reset it. Previous passwords cannot be recovered.

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

  • 2FA adds an extra layer of security. After entering your password, you will be required to enter a unique verification code sent via email or SMS.

  • If the Superuser permits it, you can activate or deactivate 2FA yourself from this screen.

  • You can indicate a trusted device during initial 2FA setup, allowing you to bypass 2FA on that device for three months. After three months, the device is automatically deactivated and must be re-indicated.

  • Trusted devices can be removed at any time if they are no longer in use.

Programme language

  • The default programme language is set per user by the System Administrator, but users can change it themselves on this screen.

  • Alternatively, click on the school name in the menu bar, then hold Shift + Ctrl and type L to toggle the interface language.

Frequently asked questions

I forgot my password — what do I do?

Click Forgot my password on the login screen to receive a reset link via email or SMS. If that is not available, ask your System Administrator to reset it for you.

Why can't I activate 2FA?

The ability to activate or deactivate 2FA is controlled by the Superuser. If the option is greyed out, contact your System Administrator to enable this permission.

How long does a trusted device stay active?

A trusted device bypasses 2FA for three months. After that it is automatically deactivated and must be set up again.

Can I change the system language myself?

Yes. Change the interface language in User Settings or by clicking the school name in the menu bar and pressing Shift + Ctrl + L.
