This article explains why the total outstanding balance in Fease may differ from d6+ Plus Finance, what causes these discrepancies, and how to reconcile them.
Fease > Dashboard
Why do balances differ?
The discrepancy stems from how the API (Application Programming Interface) provides learner data. The API returns two distinct types of learner records:
Fease may display a different total depending on which learner types are included in the current view or filter.
What are the most common causes?
Left learner balances: Debt from students who have left may not display identically in both systems.
Sync timing: If data has not recently synced, there may be a lag. Check the last sync time by hovering over Sync Now.
Category filtering: Fease may filter by specific fee categories while d6+ Plus Finance shows all categories combined.
What should I do if I notice a discrepancy?
Trigger a manual sync via Sync Now and compare the totals again. d6+ Plus Finance remains the source of truth for financial data.
Frequently asked questions
Which system is the source of truth for financial data?
d6+ Plus Finance is always the source of truth. Fease displays synced data from d6+ Plus Finance for debt management purposes.
How do I trigger a manual sync?
Hover over Sync Now in the Fease navigation bar to check the last sync time, then click it to trigger an immediate update.
Will left learner balances always cause a discrepancy?
Not always. The discrepancy depends on how many left learners have outstanding debt and how the current view or filter settings are configured in each system.
