This article explains how to export the SA-SAMS database from d6. By exporting the SA-SAMS database, your school can comply with the Department of Education's regulations regarding data submission.
My School > Compliance > Export to SA-SAMS database
Exporting the SA-SAMS database allows your school to comply with the Department of Education's data submission requirements. There is also an option to hide sensitive information, where all contact details, addresses, telephone numbers and email addresses are replaced with the school's information during export. This does not affect staff paid by the state or department, as the Department has a right to that information for staff and LURITS matters.
Click Export to new SA-SAMS Database.
Select the term for which the database must be exported.
Select the first option when all learners (including pre-school or pre-Grade R) must be exported to SA-SAMS. We also recommend that SNE schools select this option.
Select the second option when you have set up the CAPS curriculum in d6.
Select the third option when you want term and final promotion decisions to be recalculated before the export begins.
Select the first option if you want a current version of your school's data in the latest version of SA-SAMS. This is relevant for all submissions.
Select the second option if you have previously uploaded your school's SA-SAMS database containing other information such as infrastructure, register and LTSM data not facilitated in d6.
Click Continue and the database will download as a file at the bottom left of the screen.
The database can then be unzipped and uploaded into SA-SAMS.
Sensitive information: The option to hide sensitive information replaces all contact details with the school's information during export.
Staff: This option does not affect staff paid by the state.
Responsibility: The software provider accepts no responsibility for the distribution or use of any exported information.
Navigate to My School > Compliance > Export to SA-SAMS database.
Yes. Select the Hide sensitive information option and all contact details, addresses, telephone numbers and email addresses will be replaced with the school's information.
SNE schools should select the first option to export all learners (including pre-school or pre-Grade R) to SA-SAMS.
