How to generate an Eldest / Only report

The Eldest / Only report generates a summary of the eldest or only child in each register class, and can show either a summary of totals or detailed learner information.

Reports > Learners > Eldest / Only

How do I generate an Eldest / Only report?

  1. Choose to show Eldest/Only or Youngest/Only learners.

  2. Choose between a Summary (totals only) or Detailed (full learner information) report.

  3. Select the register class(es) on the left-hand side and click >> to allocate them.

  4. Click Preview to generate the report as a PDF. Adobe Acrobat Reader is required to view the document.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Summary and Detailed?

Summary shows the total number of eldest/only learners per register class. Detailed shows individual learner names and information alongside the totals.

How does the system determine who is eldest or only?

The system uses the family code and sibling data captured in learner profiles to determine birth order. Learners linked to a family with no other siblings are classified as Only. The eldest learner in each family is the one with the earliest date of birth.

Can I generate the report for all classes at once?

Yes. Select all register classes on the left-hand side and click >> to allocate them all before clicking Preview.
