How to generate hostel lists

The Hostel List displays all learners' names in hostel context on one document. Various options can be customised, including learner information, orientation and optional columns. This function is only available for schools that have indicated they have hostels.

Reports > Learners > Learner Reports: Class Lists

Prerequisite

This function is only available for schools that have indicated My School > General > General > School setup > Does your school have hostels: Yes. Hostel details are set up at My School > General > Hostels.

How do I generate a hostel list?

  1. Hostel lists with: Select whether Learner, Parent, Medical or Extracurricular information must be printed.

  2. Teacher name: Select the format for the teacher's name on the list.

  3. Display Gender: Select Boys, Girls or All.

  4. Print Hostel Lists: Select Portrait or Landscape orientation.

  5. Print column heading height and line height: Adjust if the list spans more than one page.

  6. Print blank lines: Select whether blank lines should be printed below each learner's name and how many.

  7. Print totals per gender: Select whether learner totals should be printed in the top right of the list.

  8. Print blank columns: Select how many blank columns should be printed on the list.

  9. Learner information: Select the format and order for learner names.

  10. Print additional information and custom column headings: Select additional information and add custom headings if needed.

  11. Hostel information: Select the class(es) to be printed.

Frequently asked questions

Why do I not see the Hostel List option?

The option is only visible if My School > General > School setup > Does your school have hostels is set to Yes. Contact your Superuser to activate this setting.

Can I print the list for more than one hostel at the same time?

Yes. Under Hostel information you can select more than one class or hostel before generating the list.

What do I do if the list spans two pages?

Reduce the line height so that all the content fits on one page. You can also change the orientation to Landscape for wider lists.
