How to use Term Decisions

The Term Decisions module is an automated diagnostic tool used to calculate, monitor and adjust learner results for a specific term. The system evaluates marks against linked Decision Guidelines (e.g. 2012 DOE-NPPPPR) to provide a real-time status of Achieved (A) or Not Achieved (NA), and maintains a strict audit trail of all manual moderations.

My School > System:  Curriculum > Promotion Requirements:   Term Decisions

How do I view learner results?

  1. Select the Year, Grade, Curriculum and Term.

  2. The grid shows each learner’s Calculated Result (system-generated) and Moderated Result (manual override).

  3. Hover over the (i) icon next to a learner’s name for a subject and mark breakdown. Hover over the Calculated Result to see the specific criteria the learner failed to meet.

How do I moderate a decision?

  1. Double-click the learner’s row or select them and click Moderate the selected learner.

  2. Choose a Concession type from the dropdown if applicable (e.g. Age/Phase Progression).

  3. Select the new status (Achieved or Not Achieved).

  4. Choose a mandatory reason, then click Save. Moderated results appear in red to distinguish them from system calculations.

How do I use bulk actions?

  • Recalculate: Refresh all data after bulk mark changes or weight adjustments.

  • Promote All: Override all Not Achieved results to Achieved for the entire grade.

  • Use calculated decision for all: Clear all manual moderations and return to system defaults.

How do I enter or edit individual marks from this screen?

  1. Click on a learner’s name, then select a Subject from the dropdown.

  2. Click the Plus (+) button to add a mark line. Marks can only be entered at the hierarchy level (Subject, Task or Assessment) defined in your Learning Programme.

  3. Enter the Raw Mark and Out Of. The system calculates the percentage and level automatically.

  4. Click Accept Changes.

Frequently asked questions

Why can’t the system calculate a result for a learner?

If marks are missing for mandatory subjects, the system cannot generate a verdict and will flag a task on the My Home dashboard. Complete the missing marks, then click Recalculate.

Where can I find a full diagnostic report for a moderation meeting?

Click the Decisions Report button at the bottom of the screen to export an Excel summary. This requires the Excel Export user right assigned by a Superuser.
