This function allows the user to set up or modify effort ratings. An effort rating is a percentage and/or scale symbol which can be captured in addition to normal academic marks, to evaluate students' effort or behaviour.
First Step
When you decide which symbols you want to use and if you want a new scale set or alter an existing one, please send an e-mail to
support@d6plus.co.za to inform us of the changes you want to be made. We will do the setup and changes for you. Eg. You want to change the scale set of the CAPS curriculum from 1-7 to A-G, please type this in your e-mail message.
Second step
- Please go to My School > Curriculum > Effort Ratings
- Click on "Add new"
- Enter names in both Afrikaans and English
- Choose the scale set
- Ordering will indicate the order of how effort ratings will appear on the report card.
- Important: Activate the effort rating for a specific year by selecting the year and placing over to the right-hand side.
- Please remember to click on "save" at the bottom of the screen.
How to enter effort ratings for learners
- Go to My School > Learners > Marks > Marks per group.
- Choose a year, term, grade and subject and click on the button you use to enter marks
- On each class, you will find the effort rating columns next to the marks column.
How to print effort ratings on the report card
- Please go to Reports > Learners > Report cards
- Choose the template you want to use and click on "edit chosen template".
- On the "effort ratings" tab you can choose to print the "level" or both the percentage and level, or each on their own.
- You can choose to Print the grade average as well.
- Choose the effort ratings you want to activate for this report card and draw over to the right to activate.
- Please remember to click on "save" at the bottom of the screen
