How do I allocate subject choices to learners?

This function enables educators to allocate learners to their selected subject choices. All CAPS subjects, components and assessments are pre-loaded in the system.

1. Open the Subject Choices function.

2. Allocate subjects per learner, per subject, or per group, depending on how many learners are affected.

3. Save the allocations.

How do I create subject groups?

Subject Groups are academic clusters that group learners who attend the same subject together. Unlike Register Classes (used for administration and attendance), Subject Groups are strictly for academic delivery, mark capture and timetabling. A Subject Group determines which learners sit together for a subject, who the teacher is, and in which classroom the lesson takes place.

1. Open the Subject Groups function.

2. Create a group per subject, per grade, and link the educator and classroom.

3. Save the groups before allocating learners.

How do I manage subject group allocation?

Subject Group Allocation assigns learners to the specific academic groups created in the Subject Groups module. This ensures learners appear on the correct mark sheets and are accounted for in the academic timetable and report cards.

2. Select the subject and group, then allocate the applicable learners.

3. Review and update allocations whenever learners change subjects or groups during the year.
